Busters Claim Zambian High Goaler 2013
The Busters’ sponsored team claimed the Zambian High Goaler competition for 2013, at the Leopard’s Hills Polocrosse Club on the 7th and 8th of September. The competition consisted of four sponsored teams, with each one containing at least one imported player, one lady player, one junior player and one wildcard player.
The Busters team actually boasted two imported players, Jan Albert Steenkamp and Camilla Harris, both of South Africa. Alongside them was Zambia’s own Damien Harris and Kirsten Michelson and then the junior player was Bryan Michelson and the wildcard was Piers Counsell.
The Busters overcame the other three sponsored teams, Beresford Estates, CTrack Mud Dogs and Mawson Construction over a hard fought weekend of play which also saw a junior competition running, which featured the up and coming young talent of Zambia.
As well as playing in the winning team Damien Harris also picked up the prize for best male player and Kirtsen Michelson won best lady player. Hidde Elsinga won best junior player, while Michael Krynauw’s horse Wombat won the Golden Pony prize for the best playing horse.
