Day six saw three more finals take place and it was New South Wales who grabbed two out of the three titles on offer. They took the Under 16 Mixed from Queensland and the Masters Mixed from Queensland (which was a rematch of the final from 2010 which Queensland won). However NSW did not feature in the Senior Mixed Final (the only final they have not been in so far) and there it was Western Australia who defeated Queensland there by 23-18. Those results mean that so far NSW have 3 titles, Queensland remain on 2 and WA now have 1.

Elsewhere the final Final was decided and the Senior Men will see NSW taking on WA, a re run of the 2010 finals. The remaining group games were dead rubbers as the Finals had already been decided, the Senior Women will see NSW take on WA while the Under 24 Women, the Under 21 Men and the Under 16 Open will see NSW take on Queensland. The Masters Men final will also see NSW take on Queensland.

So with just one day left to go it is NSW and Queensland who feature in the most finals but if WA grab either the Senior Men or Senior Women off NSW (and they did win the Senior Women in 2010 and have beaten NSW in the group stages) they would end the 2012 Nationals with double the number of titles they took home last time. NSW still have work to do if they are to match the 6 titles they won in 2010, they need to win half of the matches they are playing in on Finals day. Queensland need to grab one title to match their 2010 total but they will want more than that as they are featuring in 4 Finals on the last day.

(Editor’s note: in the Senior Men division it looks like NSW and Victoria have played one less game, this is not the case but we can not find the result of when they played each other on the 27th of April on the official website, we imagine NSW won.)
