Day 3 at the Barastoc Nationals in Warwick saw the two favourites in the Senior Men, New South Wales and Western Australia, clash. It was NSW who emerged victorious as they won by just three goals 23-20. However if both teams do ultimately make the final then WA will have their chance for revenge there. Elsewhere in the Senior Men Victoria grabbed their first win as they overcame Northern Territory 26-16.

Overall it was a fairly good day for NSW though they did suffer two one goal defeats, going down to Queensland 14-13 in the Under 16 Mixed and 19-18 to WA in the Masters Men. Queensland now have three wins from three games in the Under 16 competition and look very likely to make the final, with Victoria and NSW fighting it out for the other spot. There are only three teams in the Masters Men so it looks like NSW will play against WA again in the final despite that defeat.

NSW did defeat WA in the Under 24 Women though, a win they needed if they wanted to stay in contention for that Final as they had previously lost to Queensland, and they also defeated WA in the Under 21 Men. Queensland also won their match in the Under 21 men. In the Under 21 Men the two states are level at the top of the table and looking the most likely to square off in the final, which would be a repeat of the final in 2010, where Queensland emerged victorious.

It is the same situation in the Masters Mixed where NSW and Queensland are topping the table and looking to renew their 2010 rivalry, which was also won by Queensland. Queensland defeated NT 29-5 on day 3 while Victoria defeated WA 14-10.
