New South Wales, the reigning champions in many of the grades at the Barastoc Nationals, ended day 2 like they started it with just 1 defeat against their name. They were flawless in day 2 as they defeated Northern Territory three times, Victoria twice and Western Australia once. However, Queensland also had a very good second day winning 6 out of 8 games, including winning the first Senior Men’s game 25-15 against Victoria.

Western Australia also got off to a winning start in the Senior Men, beating Northern Territory 29-10 and also in the Senior Women, running out winners 20-10 against Victoria and the Senior Mixed, 20-15 winners aginst Queensland. However, elsewhere they suffered, losing to Queensland in the Under 21 Men and the Masters Men (though both games were only lost by a few goals) and to NSW in the Masters Mixed, (which was lost by a few more goals).

Victoria’s win against South Australia in the Under 21 men was the only win of the day not to go to one of the big three states as Victoria and the Northern Territory both suffered, mainly at the hands of NSW and Queensland. Victoria got close to Queensland in both the Under 21 Mixed and the Under 16 Mixed, losing 12-10 and 17-15 respectively, but they couldn’t quite do enough.
