Well, Western Phoenix anyway, (technically it’s in the East!). It seems ‘Uncle’ Pete Wherret, being paraded in a Highlanders shirt here (after Highlanders Chairman Guy Robertson claimed to have snatched him from Arden for 2007), is actually going to play for the Phoenix!

This is an excellent signing for the Phoenix who have been looking for more experienced players to come in and help their teams move up the grades this year. They would ideally like to run out a C grade team this year and Pete is a perfect centrepiece to build this team around. He has years of experience in polocrosse and this knowledge is sure to rub off on to his new clubmates.

Western Phoenix have also appointed a new coach this year in the form of Oscar Harding. Oscar will continue to play for Kent, where he made a good impact in the A grade last year, and will pass on what he has learnt from playing from men such as Jason Webb to Western Phoenix players.
